G4beamline stands out from the many other beam simulation tools in two major ways: a) it is considerably easier to use than most, and b) it models the decays and interactions of beam particles. It is capable of much more realistic simulations than most beam codes, and is used by hundreds of researchers worldwide. G4beamline has become the tool of choice for simulating muon facilities, because these require modeling the pion decays that create the muons, and the interactions of the muons in matter when ionization cooling is used. Muon beam cooling channels are complicated beam lines which that integrate beam absorbers, radio frequency cavities, and magnets. G4beamline has been, and continues to be, used to study these cooling channels for the U.S. Muon Accelerator Program.
